Our History...
In 1982 I purchased my first Hereford heifers which became the base of today’s herd. I soon discovered that purebred production was not economically feasible for my small operation.
I entered into the feedlot and local freezer beef markets. As I expanded my Hereford base herd into the feedlot calf and local freezer beef market, bulls were always purchased with a high maternal value.
This is a family operation and often my grandchildren help with the cattle. The cow herd has been culled aggressively to ensure docility is the number one characteristic followed by the cow’s ability to raise a live calf, possess good udder, feet and leg quality.
Over the years cows were bred to various breeds of beef bulls but tend to come back to the British genetics keeping a few replacement heifers, selling some to the freezer beef market and sending the rest of the calves to a local feedlot operation. I began using Red Angus bulls for maternal and 5/8 Black Angus and 3/8 Simmental hybrid bull for paternal.
With children and grandchildren involved in the 4-H showing beef animals, I decided to adjust to another marketing strategy. In conjunction with Wakem Hill Land and Cattle, I began an intensive A.I. program producing:

- replacement heifers using Hereford, Red Angus, and Shorthorn genetics.
- market show steers using A.I.sires such as Salty Dog, BIM, MAB, Comfort Zone, All About You, Carpe Dieme and Walks Alone, but still using maternal bull as clean up bulls.
