Wakem Hill Vegetables
Due to Covid-19 we are supplying our customers with produce and beef from our farm. Farm to table! Can't beat that!
In 2009 I decided to include fruit and vegetables into the farm production program. Ground cherries and vegetables are started in the greenhouse located on the home farm, then transplanted onto the Wakem Hill farm where over 20 varieties of vegetables are grown under environmentally friendly conditions. The vegetables are tended by hand and mulched with two and three year old compost. 100 hascap bushes were set out in 2012, which are beginning to produce fruit.
Spring of 2015 will plant 1000 strawberry plants. This farm provides one of the most scenic views of the upper Saint John River valley. The herbs are grown on the home farm near the greenhouse along with raspberries and a few blueberry bushes. These are available directly from us or from our booth throughout the summer at the Thursday market in Riverside Park Florenceville-Bristol Market from June 25th through September 3rd..
